February 2022 Newsletter
Monthly Newsletter - 2/25/2022
Hello everyone! Welcome to this month's newsletter! This is NMBO founder Nathan Weber, and I am writing to you during a time of global struggle and crisis. As you all are aware, the current invasion of Ukraine is underway via Russian military forces. Politics aside, it is our duty as human beings to be passionate towards one another in times such as these. That being said, survival expert Jock Sausage and our current Expedition Supervisor Brent Ekstrom have volunteered to aid special forces along the Ukrainian border. Therefore, you may not hear from them stateside anytime soon. Although I cannot disclose their current position or operative goals, I can say that they are situated in a secure position. I'll drop an image that a Ukrainian refugee took of them below.

As you may already know, Ukraine and the surrounding eastern-European area receive many reports of sightings of a Bigfoot-like creature. In 2011, MSNBC reported on potential evidence of a "Ukrainian Bigfoot". I'll add the link here. It is an interesting video with some mystery behind it. I'd argue it is inconclusive before anything else, but I'll let you be the judge.
For many of us at NMBO, the deployment of our two best members overseas can double as a humanitarian effort and an invaluable expedition opportunity. Brent and Jock are hard at work interviewing locals and gathering as much intel as possible without coming off as too inconsiderate of current global affairs. I'll keep you updated on anything Ukrainian!
As far as local news in regard to Bigfoot, reports are slow. Minnesota winters tend to be harsh and we speculate that Bigfoot may migrate out of the state for the January and February months. The frozen landscape blankets the lakes in thick sheets of ice, preventing access to valuable resources necessary for wilderness survival. Although the potential strength of Bigfoot is probably more than enough to break thin layers of ice, it seems more sensible to move onto an area richer in natural resources for these cold few months.
That is all for this month's newsletter, folks. We'll be back in March, hopefully with some more interesting details from the Ukrainian front. Meanwhile, researchers, including myself, will be preparing for the first expeditions of the season. Until next time, happy hunting!
